Date1934
DescriptionBlack and white photographs of sculpture which appeared in Tennant's 'Small Sculptures and Water Colours' exhibition at the Leger Gallery, London in 1934. One photograph has been annotated by Tennant 'Sold by Leger Gal[lery]' but the rest remain unlabelled. The sculptures are figurative pieces, some semi-abstract, in a variety of materials, including alabaster, sycamore and burnished bronze. Unlabelled pieces identified as being part of the exhibition include 'Kneeling Woman' (/1), 'Venus' (/2) 'Song' (/3-4) and 'Woman and Mandolin' (/5). The file does not include images for all the pieces exhibited at the Leger Gallery.
Notes'Mother and child' (alternatively titled 'Madonna and Child') also appeared in Tennant's 1938 exhibition at the Leicester Galleries, London in 1938.

This represents an artificial file of photographs gathered together to enable better access to the large volume of sculpture photographs originally located throughout the collection.
