TitleWork entitled 'Gallery-goers in three parts'
Date12 April 1970
DescriptionThirteen pages of typescript prose by Dye originally stapled together to form a manuscript work entitled 'Gallery-goers in three parts'. Part 1 contains impressions of ten London galleries previously unvisited by Dye, despite 'five years of gallery going'. Each page contains brief descriptions noting the physical characteristics of each gallery, rather than their ambiance. Galleries visited include: Rutland Gallery, Bruton Street; Portal Gallery, Grafton Street; New Grafton Gallery, Grafton Street; Archer Gallery, Grafton Street; Mercury Gallery, Cork Street, Hamet Gallery, Cork Street; Moorland Gallery, Cork Street; John Whibley Gallery, Cork Street; Roland Browse and Delbanco, Cork Street; and Cork Street Gallery, Cork Street. Parts 2 and 3 relate to a future scenario in which the galleries are visited and the reading of the manuscript is remembered, thereby completing the three parts of 'gallery going'.
