Each board is marked on the bottom right 'David Dye 1970'. The first of the two boards includes a typescript label providing a brief description of the work. Each board includes two pairs of numbered photographs, each pair representing a different formation of the letter 'A'. In each instance a larger photograph shows painted dowelling sited near a square piece of mirror; a viewing position is marked in chalk on the floor. The accompanying smaller image shows the letter 'A' reflected in the mirror when the work is viewed from the chalked point. Each configuration has only one viewing point from which the letter is visible in the mirror. A holograph and typescript label on the reverse of each board shows that they were submitted as a testimonial for admission into the Royal College of Art. |
