TitlePresentation board of early sculpture
Date1968
Description Untitled presentation board featuring three black and white photographs of a large abstract [metal] sculpture on cream card. The work is reminiscent of an early 1960s space satellite and is shown in an exterior location. The bottom right of the board is marked 'David Dye 1968'.
NotesIt is not known where the work was created. In an interview with Anne Seymour which featured in the catalogue for 'The New Art', Hayward Gallery, London in 1972, he is quoted as saying that in 'all my years at St Martin's I never made a metal sculpture' [p.86]. He may have been misremembering his years at St Martin's School of Art, or the work was undertaken at another art institution.
