Title | Presentation board for 'Scale for Sculpture' |
Date | 1978-1979 |
Description | Presentation board for the group exhibition 'Scale for Sculpture' featuring the front cover of the catalogue and transcript of a tape-lecture given by Dye mounted on grey card. The transcript appeared in the Winter 1978/9 edition of 'Aspects - A Journal of Contemporary Art' and concerned the thought processes behind his installation '3D' (1978). In the original article, the transcript was accompanied by a large illustration of the work; glue residue on the board suggests that this illustration maybe missing. The presentation board is signed and dated by Dye on the reverse. |
Notes | Dye's installation '3D' appeared as part of the Arts Council touring exhibition 'Scale for Sculpture', 1978-79. The tape-lecture was given by Dye at the Serpentine Gallery on 29 October 1978. The installation garnered considerable negative publicity during its tour as it incorporated pornographic film. |
