| Description | Presentation board featuring five colour stills from the film work 'Overlap' mounted on grey card. The images - of a raft on a pond - are placed next to each other in a row; two small black arrows above and below the first image suggest the movement of the film and the order in which they are to be 'viewed'. Areas of each image are marked in typescript with the words 'moving' and 'static'. A diagram illustrating the projection of the film is mounted below and an interpretative typescript label is mounted on the diagram. The presentation board is signed and dated by Dye on the reverse. |
| Notes | The performance film work incorporated a static projector containing film of a 'zoom in' on a floating raft and a hand-held projector containing film of a 'zoom out' from the raft. In performance Dye attempted to keep the raft in the hand-held image overlapping and in scale with the raft in the static image. The areas marked as 'moving' and 'static' relate to the images produced by the static projector and the overlapping, hand-held projector. A still version of the work was made in 1975 and exhibited at 'Arte Inglese Oggi', Palazzo Reale, Milan, 1976. |
