Description | Colour and monochrome photographs of 'Light Effects Not Seen During Projection' (1974). The images represent stills of sunlight reflected on water taken from a strip of Fujichrome Single 8 film. In each image reflected light appears in a semi-circular area at the top left-hand corner of each frame. The bundle includes several frames printed from the film. In some instances, the central image – showing the sunlight reflected on water – has been removed by a scalpel. The photographs are largely unlabelled save for some pencil numbering. One photograph is marked in black ink on the reverse, 'One photo from five of light effects not seen during projection, 1974, David Dye' [/1]. The colour images are accompanied by a black and white still of similar light effects [/21] and a monochrome photograph of a strip of Fujichrome single 8 film [/22]. Though the film quality of /22 is poor, the image appears to be a person photographing themselves in a full-length mirror, rather than light effects on water. |
