TitlePhotographs of '3 Spectator Locations'
Date[1970]
DescriptionFour untitled black and white photographs of '3 Spectator Locations' in a studio setting. A large image - made from two photographs collaged together - shows a room with three mirrors on the floor and [tape?] on the walls, mirror and floor. An arrow in black ink points to a notice on the wall; according to Dye's description of the work - included on a separate presentation board - the notice gives the spectator instructions to locate three points from which an 'X' is reflected in one of the mirrors. Two of the accompanying images show separate reflections of an 'X'. These images represent two of the positions from which the reflections can be viewed. A fourth image shows a mirror without an 'X. The formation of the reflection is impossible in this mirror, as the exact viewing location is obscured by a wall and is inaccessible to the spectator. Duplicate images were mounted on a presentation board with interpretative text by Dye (see 2016.1/G/1/4).
