DescriptionWork entitled 'Response Corerspondence' incorporating an untitled photograph and text originally held in a handmade booklet made from card, paper, plastic pockets and tape. The work comprises a blurred photographic image of a piece of writing mounted on card. The remaining pages contain handwritten text in pencil and ink by nine [friends/acquaintances] written in response to viewing the photograph. A holograph note by Dye is glued to the inside back cover. The text notes that, 'This piece of writing which was photographed out of focus is a device and a symbol. As a device it is intended to spark off a response in the person to whom it is given'. All items, except Dye's text, have been removed from the booklet and placed in archival pockets.
NotesThe work was identified by using titled sketches found in Dye's notebooks dating from his time at St. Martin's School of Art.
