Description | Sketches, notes, cut outs and calculations in pencil and ink originally held in a blue document wallet marked 'Sketches 88-89'. Much of the material represents an exploration of ideas for installations in sketch and note form, many incorporating mirrors, with little discernible material for realised works. However, the file contains a small amount of untitled preparatory material for the following exhibited works: 'You Can't Take It With You' (1988) [/41-43; 62], 'Pump' (1988) [/44-52] and 'Core' (c.1989-90) [/55-59]. Includes a small number of notes interspersed throughout the bundle in which Dye interrogates his artistic practice and examines his need to develop his work. Also includes partial card cut outs of the letters 'N and 'O', accompanied by card cut outs of irregular shapes, possibly a face in profile. |
