Description | Forty black and white photographs of studio experiments carried out by Cripps at Butlers Wharf. The majority of experiments involve a pyrotechnic element. Includes images of Cripps throwing lit pieces of torn paper [/1-8]; Cripps dressed in protective clothing burning a [flysheet?] with an arc welder [/9-22]; and a [revolving?], burning object suspended from the ceiling by several lengths of rope [/31-34]. Other experiments involve Cripps dressed in an [asbestos?] suit [/23-28]; a [pendulum] device made from a motor arm [/29-30]; and lengths of [cassette tape?] attached to a speaker. /5 is marked in ink on the reverse in an unidentified hand, ‘Stephen Cripps Experiments, one of several copies with Cripps Trust. 1992’. Three photographs are glued onto a sheet of A4 paper [/33]. |
