Description | Negatives originally held in a glassine storage envelope labelled by Cripps in red ink, ‘Corsham Smoke pellets’ and ‘Corsham Sculpt[ure] Show. Smoke pellets’. The images show lit smoke pellets placed beneath various materials, including cloth sheeting, corrugated [plastic] and [thick card?]. Cripps is shown in three frames putting the smoke pellets into position. Accompanied by a corresponding contact sheet marked in gold ink, ‘Corsham Smoke Pellets. Diddy Bags’. The contact sheet appears to be a later print of Cripps’ original negatives produced by the Stephen Cripps Trust. It is marked on the reverse with the Cripps Trust Catalogue stamp and the number 37. |
