Description | Negatives originally held in a ‘Boots’ photo processing envelope labelled by Cripps in red ink, ‘Pots of paint falling on spreadeagle figure’. The images show a basic, catapult structure on wheels made from [scaffolding] poles and a bucket attached to a wooden plank. A figure lies spread-eagled beneath the structure as paint falls from the bucket. Includes images of the silhouette of the figure made by the paint on a piece of cloth. Cripps and an unidentified male are shown lying beneath the structure. Also includes five frames of different works made by Cripps inside the sculpture studio at Corsham. Accompanied by a corresponding contact sheet marked in gold ink, ‘Pots of paint falling on spreadeagle figure. Diddy Bag’. A white label in an unidentified hand provides brief information about the work. The contact sheet appears to be a later print of Cripps’ original negatives produced by the Stephen Cripps Trust. It is marked on the reverse with the Cripps Trust Catalogue stamp and the number 37. |
