Description | Negatives of two works originally held in a glassine storage envelope labelled by Cripps in red ink, ‘Tower 72’ and ‘Tower 72, T.V. and stuffed head.’ Both works are shown in front [of the sculpture school] at [Corsham]. The images show a totem-like structure made from domestic objects, including a television set, a chest of drawers, a stuffed squirrel in a display case and a stuffed and mounted fox’s head. Negatives of a separate work show a basic, catapult structure on wheels made from [scaffolding] poles and a bucket attached to a wooden plank. Accompanied by a corresponding contact sheet marked in silver ink, ‘Tower 72 and stuffed head. Diddy Bag.’ Two white labels in an unidentified hand provide brief information about the works. The contact sheet appears to be a later print of Cripps’ original negatives produced by the Stephen Cripps Trust. |
