DescriptionHardback black sketchbook dating from undergraduate course at University of Newcastle Upon Tyne containing sketches, notes and designs towards constructions, sculptures, paintings, silkscreen-prints, abstract paintings, landscapes, three-dimensional canvases, corner canvases, gridded canvases, canvas construction techniques and various self-analytical notes/poems/titles. Imagery including recurring "T-Shape" (Keir Smith references a "metal support"), volcano motif, landscapes, classical architecture, drapery, grids, clouds, pyramids, geometry abstractions. Other references include Jack Brymer (1915 - 2003) and "Haydn Divertimenti" (Joseph Haydn, 1732 -1809).
NotesInformation from Clare Rowe: In relation to veils and curtains, the corner canvases are considerations of the relationship between the wall and the ground.
