DescriptionSmall file of papers related to Tennant's work 'St George and the Dragon' for the external wall of the British Pavilion at the New York World's Fair in 1939. The file includes two black and white photographs of the work in a makeshift studio, one of which features Tennant (/1-2); three black and white photographs of the British Pavilion Building, including one showing the completed 'George and the Dragon' (/3-5); a copy letter from the commissioning architect Howard Robertson thanking him for his co-operation and expressing a 'warm appreciation' of Tennant's work (/6); and a small press cutting related to Howard Robertson's role as an advisor to the Turkish Government on plans for a new Turkish Parliament (/7).
Notes'George and the Dragon' was commissioned by the architects Stanley Hall & Easton and Robertson.
