| Description | Black and white photographs of sculpture which appeared in Tennant'solo exhibition at the French Gallery, London in 1933. Some are annotated by Tennant with the title and material of the piece and/or by whom it was sold. A number are also annotated with Tennant's name and address. The majority of sculptures are figurative pieces, some semi-abstract, carved in wood. The labelled pieces include 'Mother and Child' (/2), 'Head in Portland stone' (/3) and 'Man and Woman carved in sycamore' (/4-6). Unlabelled pieces identified as being part of the exhibition include 'Reclining Figure' (/7-8), 'Torso' (/9) and 'Male Torso' (/10). The file also includes photographs of decorative panels created for private clients, including the stone relief 'Builders' (/11-12) and oak panels for a fireplace entitled 'Adam and Eve' (/13-14). The file does not include images for all of the pieces exhibited at the French Gallery. |

The French Gallery exhibition represents one of Tennant's first one-man exhibitions and included both water colours and sculpture.
This represents an artificial file of photographs gathered together to enable better access to the large volume of sculpture photographs originally located throughout the collection. |
