Title | Black board covered notebook |
Date | July 1953-Sep 1961 |
Description | Small black board covered notebook containing sketches and notes related to the production of pottery and tiles, including kiln temperatures, firing processes, recipes for different coloured glazes and firing test results. The notebook also refers to the production of mural tiles and stoneware for various commissions, including the fountain at Gartee High School, Oadby, Leicestershire. The notebook has been used from both ends and also includes notes related to clay composition originally inserted into the notebook. |
Notes | The handwriting throughout the notebook is inconsistent and may indicate additional hands, including [Tennant's]. It is assumed that the majority of handwriting in the exercise book is that of Annan, but the style differs slightly to that found in other parts of the archive, making a definitive identification problematic. |
