Description | Eighteen medium format colour transparencies of works by Dye dating from 1986 to 1991. Includes images of the following identified works: 'Tattoo' (1986) [/1]; 'Tight Reign' (1986) [/2]; 'Build' (1986) [/3]; 'Steps' (1988) [/4]; 'Pump' (1988) [/5]; 'Equation' (c.1989-90) [/6]; 'Core' (c.1989-90) [/7-8] 'My Bed' (1990) [/9], 'Lifeline' (1990) [/10]; and 'The Big O' (1991) [/11-16]. Also includes images of two unidentified works: the first depicts two medieval helmets held in place by chains [/17]; the second shows an anatomical depiction of a human head with a dagger placed between the lips, possibly a work entitled 'Lingua Franca' described similarly in a review of 'Under the Sign of Saturn' at the Nigel Greenwood Gallery, London in 1987 [/18]. |
Notes | According to Dye’s website, 'Tattoo', 'Tight Reign' and 'Build' were exhibited at his MA Fine Art Show at Goldsmiths' College, London in 1986. 'Steps' was first shown at The Showroom, London in 1988 and was shown again as part of Dye solo exhibition of installation and sculpture at The Showroom, London in 1990 alongside 'Pump', 'Equation', 'Core', 'My Bed' and 'Lifeline'. 'The Big O' was installed at Riverside Studios, London in 1991. |
