Title | Monochrome positives of a work incorporating a carousel projector |
Date | c.1971 |
Description | Monochrome positives of a work incorporating a carousel projector in a studio setting. Includes images of Dye's feet standing at numbered positions painted on the floor, accompanied by images of the equipment used by Dye to create the work. |
Notes | The images may relate to a work entitled 'Projector Piece for 12 Positions' (1971) featured in the exhibition catalogue for 'Art Systems', Museum of Modern Art, Buenos Aires, Argentina, July 1971. According to the catalogue, the work involved Dye taking photographs of his feet standing at twelve numbered positions painted on the floor. For each number, Dye took the corresponding number of images. These images were then made into slides and placed in a carousel projector in inverse numerical order. In exhibition, the situation was recreated using Dye's original images projected on to a wall. |
