The notebook contains pencil and ink sketches, diagrams, notes and text towards realised and unrealised works - mostly untitled - accompanied by some analytical commentary by Dye in which he interrogates and critiques his ideas and artistic practice. Contains detailed notes and sketches related to Dye's site specific installation 'A/Partners' at the Arnolfini Gallery in 1977, including draft text for the female and male mannequin monologues and notes related to a talk accompanying the exhibition. Also includes notes related to talks on Dye's sculpture and filmmaking; sketches and notes related to Dye's experimentation with anamorphosis using mirrored pyramids; a slide list for works dated between 1970 and 1980 with a detailed description of each work; and 'to-do' lists, personal reminders and draft letters. |
