Description | Black 1981 desk diary containing notes and sketches by Dye. The diary has not been used to record appointments, but used solely as a sketchbook. Contains pencil and ink sketches, drawings and notes related to Dye's period of experimentation with mirrors and anamorphic sculpture, much of it untitled. Includes sketches of mirrored pyramids and their anamorphic images, including sexually explicit images of male masturbation, male genitalia framed by keyholes and female nudity. A number of images also relate to faces and rooms. Also includes sketches reminiscent of Dye's anamorphic studio work 'Mirror Portrait for Camera' (1981); sketched ideas for unrealised anamorphic installations; and lecture notes. Accompanied by a loose page removed from the diary showing an ink sketch of an anamorphic image of a bedroom. |
