DescriptionFour black and white photographs of Cripps’ solo exhibition at Artists for Democracy, Fitzrovia Cultural Centre, London, 29 March - 23 May 1976. Includes three photographs of Cripps sitting on ‘Garden Swing’ (1976) and one image of Cripps [erecting?] ‘Scaffolding Tower’ (1976) in front of the gallery building. Accompanied by a contact sheet of additional works shown at the exhibition and Paul Burwell interviewing Cripps on ‘Garden Swing’ [/5]. The works shown on the contact sheet include ‘Scaffolding Tower’, ‘Revolving Tape Machine’ (1976), [‘Spinning Wheel Machine’?] (1976) and ‘Cymbal Machine’ (1976). Three images are marked on the reverse in an unidentified hand ‘photo by Jane England’.
NotesPaul Burwell interviewed Cripps on 29 March 1976 at Artists for Democracy, Fitzrovia Cultural Centre, London. A shortened version of the interview was published by Paul Burwell in ‘Musics’ magazine, No. 8, July 1978.
