| Description | Black and white photographs of Cripps performing ‘Machine Dances’ at two separate events in 1974, including Bath Festival, Bath [/1-9] and Tuffnell Park Community Festival, London [/10-37]. Also includes images of an indoor performance of the work at an unidentified location [/38-43]. The images are accompanied by folded sheets of paper used by the Stephen Cripps Trust to group the images. These contain brief notes compiled by the Trust related to each performance. The majority of photographs are marked on the reverse with a Stephen Cripps Trust Catalogue Stamp and the number 39. Some images also include pencil numbering on the reverse, though this numerical ordering has not been retained. Few images appear to have been labelled by Cripps, apart from four images seemingly marked in the artist’s hand [/1, /23 and /26-27]. |
