DescriptionHardback maroon sketchbook containing sketches, notes and designs towards, drawings, paintings, drawing and painting processes and tools outdoor works, performative installations, assemblages, 'frame/arena. Knapping tools', outdoor light installations and wall/floor constructions. Keir Smith references 'Rust drawings', also notes on slide sequencing, drawing projection, pencilling, timing mechanisms and constructing light boxes. Imagery including natural landscapes, set squares, drawing boards, drawing tools, tool kits, frames, rocks, balancing formations, studio space and outdoor locations, star-constellations (The Plough) ('Observation plates'), observatories, 'plumb-bob', suspended formations, flint tools, grids and 'star-grids', torches, tree-trunks, compasses and tripods. Keir Smith also references the 'N.H. Museum' [Natural History Museum]; also sea plant animals, and he notes 'good subject for a work?'. Smith also refers to guest teachers in back of sketchbook. The sketchbook includes sketches which reference Butler's Wharf studio.
