Description	Hardback black sketchbook dating from undergraduate course at University of Newcastle Upon Tyne containing sketches, notes and designs towards multipanel paintings, shaped canvases, floor painting series, moulds, chipboard paintings, use of plaster, print techniques, mounting methods, construction details, structures under tension, "squeezed drawings", kite drawings and paint application Keir Smith's references include "Oct 29. 1953"; "Clyfford Still writing to JP" (Clyfford Still, 1909 - 1980; Jackson Pollack, 1912 - 1956); "Rome Scholarship"; "Vivaldi. Gloria in D. mag (?)" (Antonio Vivaldi, 1678 - 1741) and "hand drawn map to London rope shop stuck in back". Imagery including printing symmetry and A-frames.
Notes	Information from Clare Rowe: Demonstrates considerations of the relationship between the wall and the ground. Clare Rowe notes several designs towards a late plaster work in Newcastle resolved during Chelsea work.
