DescriptionHardback black sketchbook dating from Keir Smith's undergraduate course at University of Newcastle Upon Tyne containing sketches, collages and notes towards painting. Images include volcanoes, cloud studies, pyramids; mountain lightning perspectival motif; rocky landscapes and coastal images; desert with pyramids; Ziggurat motifs; extensive sketches and working drawings towards silkscreens and paintings. Also workings towards large-scale paintings and 'V' shape of the painted relief through a series of coloured paintings. Keir Smith also notes painting application detailing support, under painting, paint, design and motivation. Keir Smith reference 'proper abstract experimental painting with images'.
