The notes in the first third of the book appear to be lecture notes, whereas the remaining material seems to relate to Annan's professional career as a potter and relates to practice rather than theory. Accompanied by a significant number of additional pieces of paper containing sketches and glaze recipes originally inserted into the notebook. |

It is assumed that the majority of handwriting in the exercise book is that of Annan, but the style differs slightly to that found in other parts of the archive, making a definitive identification problematic. |
