  <dc:description>Green ‘Silvine Drawing Book’ with drawings and notes for two blast incendiary devices. Includes an annotated drawing titled ‘Blast Incendiary Device – Long Delay’ showing a watch attached to battery and ‘gas lighter element wrapped in sellotape’ held in a ‘Polythene bag containing approx. 2oz sugar/chlorate?.’ Annotated by Cripps, ‘Watch hand comes into contact with drawing pin shank, thus completing the electrical circuit and causes gas lighter filament to glow white hot, setting off incendiary mixture’. A second annotated drawing titled ‘Blast Incendiary Device – Shorty Delay’ shows a ‘balloon containing a wax ampule partly filled with strong acid’ held in a ‘polythene bag containing chlorate/sugar.’ Annotated by Cripps, ‘Squeeze packet at top breaking ampule; acid attacks balloon. having eaten through, acid in contact with mixture produces immediate fierce fire.’ Both devices are shown contained within a cigarette packet.  The majority of pages have been removed from the book. The sketchbook also includes a tipped-in newscutting showing the formal presentation of a memorial shelter to the people of Falmouth by the U.S. Navy. </dc:description>
